During the Monitoring Committee meeting for the Interreg Europe program, held on December 10-11, 2024, in Budapest, 113 project proposals submitted under the program’s Third Call were approved for funding.
These approved projects cover all six thematic areas of the program: Smarter Europe, Greener Europe, More Connected Europe, More Social Europe, Europe Closer to Citizens, and Better Governance of Regions.
Among the 113 approved projects, 10 involve participation from a total of 12 Montenegrin institutions and organizations. The total value of their participation amounts to approximately €1.5 million, with up to 80% of this being non-repayable EU funding. Over the next four years, these institutions will engage in joint activities, mutual learning, and experience sharing, working to strengthen their capacities in collaboration with partners from various countries across Europe.
This success marks a significant milestone for Montenegrin partners, as they participated for the first time in a regular call of the Interreg Europe program. Earlier this year, four Montenegrin organizations and institutions were supported through a Restricted Call exclusively designed for countries that recently joined the program, allowing them to join already approved projects from the First and Second Calls.

The Ministry of European Affairs congratulates all selected partners and wishes them success in implementing their projects.
