Successful cooperation of Montenegrin institutions with ReSPA

Strengthening administrative capacities is of key importance for the successful implementation of obligations from the EU accession process. That is why it is very important to continue the cooperation of state administration bodies with the Regional School for Public Administration (ReSPA), on improving the knowledge and skills of civil servants and employees and further strengthening public administration. This was assessed at the meeting of the Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević and the director of the Regional School for Public Administration management (ReSPA) of Maja Handjiska Trendafilova.

Gorčević expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation with ReSPA so far and introduced the plans of the Ministry of European Affairs, in terms of strengthening the capacity of that department, as well as strengthening the complete negotiation structure.

“For the successful completion of the negotiation process, and in particular, for the efficient use of the opportunities that will be available to us when we become a member of the EU, we must have strong institutions and professional and quality personnel. Improving knowledge and skills, while retaining professional staff in the negotiation structure, is imperative on our European path,” said Gorčević.

Handjiska Trendafilova expressed her satisfaction with the successful cooperation of ReSPAe with the Montenegrin public administration and expressed the expectation that it will continue with the same quality in the coming period. She presented the activities and work mechanisms of ReSPA, pointing out that the Regional School is at the disposal of both Montenegro and other countries of the region for building and further strengthening the administrative capacities necessary for full membership in the EU.

Modalities of specific forms of cooperation between the two institutions in the coming period were also discussed at the meeting.
