The results of the projects carried out with the support of the EU are good example of how the funds, that are going to be available to Montenegro in the following period, should be used, said Jean-Eric Paquet from EU Directorate General for Enlargement, emphasizing importance of regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
He met Tuesday with Deputy PM Igor Luksic with whom he talked about the progress in negotiation process and challenges that are in front of Montenegro in the EU accession process.
The results of the projects financed through EU support programs were presented to Paquet.
Paquet said that the results are good example of how to “use funds that would be accessible to Montenegro” in the best possible manner.
“He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, which was additionally improved by numerous projects financed through IPA programs, emphasizing that, by joint efforts and cooperation, all the countries of the region contribute to strengthening of stability and further economic growth”, MVPEI press release stated.
During the meeting, Luksic emphasized the EU negotiation process dynamics, and the importance of continuous cooperation and support that Montenegro had been receiving in that process from the EU institutions.
He expressed satisfaction with the fact that within financial perspective 2007-2013 high level of agreed funds was noted with belief that such trend would be continued during financial perspective 2014-2020.
Luksic emphasized the importance of the fact that in that period Montenegro would have available support of €270.5 million for eight defined priority sectors.
