Prizes awarded to the winners of the video contest #MyCity on the way to the EU

The chief negotiator of Montenegro with the European Union, Predrag Zenović, awarded prizes to the winners of the video contest #MyCity on the way to the EU, which the Ministry of European Affairs organized for primary school students in May on the occasion of Europe Day. The competition was organized with the financial support of the European Union through the EU4ME project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.

The first place was won by Filip Bigović, a 7th-grade student from “Njegoš” Elementary School from Cetinje, and Edin Bećirović, a 7th-grade student from “Nedakusi” Elementary School from Bijelo Polje. Petra Bogdanović, a 7th-grade student at “Njegoš” Elementary School from Kotor, won second prize, and Andrija Deretić, an 8th-grade student at “Milorad Musa Burzan” Elementary School from Podgorica, won third place. A group of 8th grade students from the “Mahmut Lekić” elementary school from Tuzi, Helena Drinčić, Iva Dedvukaj, Najla Niković and Krnič Bisera, won a special award for team effort.

“I am especially glad that we have children from all three regions of Montenegro, because European integration concerns all of us and together we can contribute to its success. You by continuing to be diligent, to learn and discover new horizons, to be curious and creative, and we, on the other hand, to work hard to ensure that you always have as many opportunities for education, training and work as possible. You are the generation that tomorrow will have the opportunity to study wherever they want in Europe, because we believe that by the time you graduate, Montenegro will be a member of the European Union,” Zenović said after presenting the awards.

The task of the contestants was to create and publish a reel on their Instagram/Facebook profile, in which they will present the city they live in, by presenting the natural beauty, rich culture and inspiring people of their city in an interesting, original and creative way, as and the dynamic changes and developments shaping its path to the EU. The competition received over 50 applications.

The expert jury that chose the best consisted of representatives of the Ministry of European Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the young social media influencer Nikolina Radusinović.
