The assessments from the European Parliament Resolution on Montenegro represent important guideline and support to the country on the path towards membership in the EU, said State Secretary for European Integration Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic.
In a meeting with a member of the EU delegation for Montenegro Elena Gentile, he thanked for successful cooperation that contributes to achieving of the progress on EU path.
The meeting exchanged opinions about the EP Resolution on Montenegro, parliamentary cooperation, in particular in the light of the forthcoming meeting of the Parliamentary Stabilization and Association Committee.
“In terms of that, Pejovic conveyed the readiness and determination to continue with fulfilling all requirements with the goal of achieving full membership in the EU”, the press release stated.
Gentile praised good relations between Montenegro and the EP in the process of EU accession and expressed expectations for intensifying of the cooperation between Montenegro and Italy, and in particular region of Puglia.
They talked about the priorities of future trilateral program Italy-Albania-Montenegro for which managing body will be the region of Puglia, and they also exchanged opinions about other programs in which Montenegro and Italy would participate.
Pejovic also met Monday with new Head of Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s office Norbert Beckmann Dierkes.
They exchanged opinions about the experiences from the cooperation in the field of European integration and expressed expectations for its improvement.
Pejovic emphasized importance of the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU Integration and Kondrad Adenauer foundation in implementation of the Strategy for Informing Public about Montenegro’s EU Accession process.
