Montenegro is closing three negotiation chapters at the Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels today

The Intergovernmental Conference between Montenegro and the European Union (EU), where Montenegro is expected to gain approval to close three negotiation chapters, will be held today in Brussels.

The conference is scheduled to begin at 6 PM and be followed by a press conference at 7:30 PM, which can be watched live via this link.

Speakers at the conference will include Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, and Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó.

On Friday, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU Member States (COREPER) approved Montenegro’s closure of three negotiation chapters: Chapter 7 – Intellectual Property Law, Chapter 10 – Information Society and Media, and Chapter 20 – Enterprise and Industrial Policy.

Montenegro has opened all negotiation chapters in its EU accession process and previously temporarily closed three chapters: Chapter 25 – Science and Research, Chapter 26 – Education and Culture, and Chapter 30 – External Relations.
