Gorčević with Partsos: Strong support from Greece on the European path

The Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, today met the Ambassador of the Republic of Greece in Montenegro, Panayotis Partsos. They exchanged opinions regarding current affairs from the process of Montenegro’s accession to the EU, as well as the relations between Montenegro and Greece.

Minister Gorčević informed the ambassador about the plans of the Government and the Ministry of European Affairs aimed at finalizing the negotiation process.

“We are determined to intensify the reform processes and do everything so that, by the end of this government’s mandate, Montenegro is ready for EU accession. We owe that to our citizens, who support membership in a high percentage of almost 80 percent and want Montenegro to be the next member of the EU,” said the minister.

Ambassador Partsos welcomed the results so far on the European road and conveyed Greece’s strong support for fulfilling the remaining obligations on the European road.

“Montenegro and Greece have excellent bilateral and NATO cooperation. We want you to join us in the European Union soon. In that direction, you can count on our full support”, said the ambassador.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on current internal, regional, and global situations.
