The EU will provide one million euros for reconstruction of the border crossing Bozaj, in order to solve the issue of traffic jams in that area, the EU Delegation to Montenegro stated.
Director for the Western Balkans at the Directorate General of the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Jean-Eric Paquet and Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Mitja Drobnic visited the Bozaj border crossing between Montenegro and Albania, together with the representatives of the Foreign and Interior ministries.
According to the press release from the EU Delegation, the visit to that place was in the same time a reflection on some of key priorities of the European Commission which are reflected in the regional cooperation and connectedness, on one hand, between the countries of the Western Balkans, and on the other hand between the Western Balkan and other parts of Europe.
“One of the reasons for visiting the Bozaj border crossing is the cross-border cooperation project within which in the second part of this year the reconstruction of the border crossing Bozaj will start, and for which the EU allocated €1 million, with the goal of solving the issue of traffic collapse in that area”, the press release explains.
Within the same project, as added, the EU finances building of the new border crossing Grbom-Zatrijebacka Cijevna in the amount of 500.000 euros.
