Rome: Director General for European Affairs Snežana Radović at an informal meeting of Director General for European Affairs

Director General for European Affairs Snežana Radović participated earlier today at an informal meeting of Directors General for European Affairs in Rome, Italy.

The meeting presented the priorities of the Italian EU Presidency and underlined that enlargement is high on the priority list. For the first time, the meeting was attended by representatives of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Director General Radović welcomed the Italian Presidency’s decision to invite the neighbouring countries, noting at the same time that this is an indicator of commitment to the enlargement policy toward the Western Balkans.

She underlined the importance of the regional countries’ cooperation on their way toward the EU regardless of the differences in their respective integration progress. She also presented Montenegro’s hitherto achievements in the process of EU integration. In that regard, Ms Radović noted that Montenegro has opened 12 chapters, of which it has provisionally closed two, and noted that it will continue fulfilling its EU agenda commitments with the same vigour and in accordance with the planned dynamics.
