The new Commission for European Integration considered the EC Report

“The latest report of the European Commission, as well as our internal assessments and prepared dynamic plans for Chapters 23 and 24, and plans for other negotiating chapters are a clear signpost in which direction and dynamics of all three branches of government, should work in the coming period with professional and technical support of the negotiating structure. They should operate together in order to complete this process and prepare Montenegro to be the next EU member” said the Chief Negotiator, Zorka Kordić, at the meeting of the Commission for European Integration.

Today, the constitutive meeting of the new Commission was held. It was the occasion to discuss the assessments from the EC Report, monitoring the implementation and dynamics of preparation of the new Program of Montenegro’s accession to the EU for the period 2022 – 2023, as well as the EU Translation Plan.

The Chief Negotiator underlined that the role of the recently established Commission will be of great importance for more efficient addressing and monitoring of the implementation of all obligations from the negotiation process regarding the application of the revised methodology.

She emphasized that in addition to a clear mandate of quality planning and more efficient implementation of all obligations from the Accession Program, the Commission will serve as a broad consultative forum for all issues from the process of Montenegro’s accession to the EU.

At the meeting it was agreed to precisely analyze all segments of the EC Report for 2021, which will serve as a starting point for future planning of PPCG. The schedule of key activities by the end of this year was determined as well.
